A Travellerspoint blog

Day 109, Durban - Winterton

After catching some CNN news we headed out to leave the lovely beaches and humidity of Durban and travelled north-east along excellent motorways. We made good time, driving through Pietermaritzburg and onto black township of Colenso. Our efforts to view some old Boer battlefields were thwarted by a closed museum. Arrived at our rural backpackers early afternoon, grabbed some buns for lunch in the sleepy town and watched a feast of Super 12 rugby all afternoon. It was an early night after a meaty braai, newspaper reading and exercises. PS: Had McD's for brunch after four months.
